The CSS bottom property is used in positioning an element. The bottom property allows you to specify how far the element is offset from the bottom of its containing block (for absolute positioning), or from the bottom of where the element itself would normally have been (for relative positioning).

The 'bottom' property is used in conjunction with the position property, as well as the top, left, and right properties.

Syntax: bottom: <value>
Possible Values:
  • <length> (i.e. 20px)
  • <percentage> (i.e. 20%)
  • auto
  • inherit
Initial Value: Auto
Applies to: Positioned elements.
Inherited: No
Media: Visual
Example:

  position: absolute;
  bottom: 20px;
