So, you're looking for available band names? Great, you've come to the right place!

Checking for Available Band Names

If you think you've got a great band name, but you want to see if it's being used by another band, you should do the following:

1. Check a comprehensive band list. The Ultimate Band List is a website that contains a large, "A - Z" list of band names. This is a good place to start when checking for available band names.
2. Check for the availability of the equivalent domain name (eg, "www.my-band-name.com"). You can check for availability through ZappyHost.

A Final Word

Any band that registers a domain name is probably quite serious about its future. A band that doesn't register its domain name probably isn't as serious. If the domain name is available - take it!

If your preferred domain name is already taken, check to see where the domain name leads (type it into your browser). Chances are, it might not even be a band that owns the domain name. Don't forget to check the ".net" equivalent, and other variations too.
